We may not all live in the same city, but that doesn’t mean we can’t create together. For the 4th of July luminaries of red ,white and blue, decorated our tables and driveways.
The McDonoughs, Beth, Anna and McKenzie, along with Addy and Estelle, created luminaries out of tin cans. Recycling in action.
The process is simple, rinse cans and fill with water. FREEZE Now the fun can begin. Using a hammer and nail, pierce the can creating a pattern. The frozen water allows the can to keep its shape. After pattern is complete, allow ice to melt and dry can. Then paint. Use tea lights in the can to illuminate.

I never would have thought of freezing water inside so they keep their shape! Cool tip.
